3-Ingredient Chocolate Banana Ice Cream made with all natural ingredients. No added sweeteners, eggs, or dairy! This is a no-churn ice cream recipe, so no ice cream maker is needed!
Creamy, chocolatey, rich and sweet ice cream that only requires three ingredients and 5 minutes to make?
Can you believe such a treat actually exists??
You’re not dreaming, this chocolate banana ice cream is not only fabulous for chocolate lovers and banana lovers alike, it is actually healthy.
Made with just ripe bananas, raw cacao powder (or cocoa powder), and a splash of full-fat coconut milk, this incredibly straightforward ice cream recipe is lower in calories than regular ice cream and is tolerated well by those with food sensitivities (unless of course you have a sensitivity to one of the ingredients ;))
If you’ve been following along my site, you may have seen my Banana Nice Cream. The concept is the same here except we’re making it devilishly rich and creamy by infusing it with chocolate.
Just be sure to use very ripe bananas for the sweetest result! You want them to have a lot of brown spots.
Simply peel and freeze your bananas so that you’re ready to make banana ice cream at a moment’s notice!
- Ultra creamy and chocolatey
- No ice cream maker
- No eggs
- Low fuss
- Quick and easy
- Amazingly rich and sweet
How to Make Chocolate Banana Ice Cream:
If you haven’t already, freeze your ripe bananas in a plastic bag (without the peels). I simply peel mine, break them in half, then freeze them. Some people like to chop the bananas into smaller chunks to get them to blend easier. This is definitely an option if you’d like!
Add everything to a high-powered blender or food processor and secure the lid.
First blend on a lower speed to get everything to chop up and then blend on a high (to highest) speed, using your tamper (if you have a blender) to help mash everything to the blade for easy blending. Do this until the chocolate ice cream is completely combined, creamy, and there are no more chunks of banana. If need be, stop the blender or food processor to scrape the sides before you continue blending.
Either serve immediately for soft serve consistency or transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze until completely set up.
When you’re ready to enjoy the ice cream, thaw it for a couple of minutes, scoop, and enjoy!
