All we need to make sweet and creamy Banana Popsicles is three basic ingredients: bananas, coconut milk, and pure maple syrup. The perfect wholesome warm weather sweet treat!

Between my Strawberry Coconut Milk Popsicles, Blueberry Popsicles, and Peach Popsicles, you would think I had dreamt up a banana version long, long ago.
Needless to say, I feel like it took me far too long to dream up creamy banana popsicles, but here I am to remedy that.
This easy recipe requires just ripe bananas and canned coconut milk at a baseline. You can toss in some pure maple syrup for some extra sweet and some pure vanilla extract too, but both of these additions are optional.
The perfect summer kitchen project for kiddos, I see these homemade banana popsicles as a great option for those who try to keep treat whole food-centric.
Ingredient Notes:
Ripe Bananas: The main ingredient here! Overripe bananas bring the highest level of sweetness and the most concentrated banana flavor. Be sure to use bananas with plenty of brown spots for the best results.
Full-Fat Canned Coconut Milk: Adding a little fat in the form of full-fat coconut milk brings richness to the popsicles for a creamy treat that has a luxurious tropical vibe.
Pure Maple Syrup: A touch of pure maple syrup goes a long way in boosting the sweetness of the popsicles. The the natural sweetness of ripe bananas makes the popsicles sweet enough on their own, so feel free to skip the pure maple syrup. Agave nectar or honey works too.
Vanilla Extract: Just a little splash of vanilla extract adds some warm flavor. Feel free to skip it.
Recipe Adaptations:
- If you’re a peanut butter lover, add ¼ cup to ⅓ cup of creamy peanut butter to the popsicle mixture.
- Make a chocolate magic shell to coat the popsicles. To do so, melt 1 cup of chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 20-second intervals, stirring well in between each interval, until melted, about 60 seconds total. Use a spoon to drizzle the melted chocolate over the banana creamsicles and freeze them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper until the chocolate has frozen.
- You can swap the full-fat canned coconut milk for half & half or heavy cream. I don’t recommend using a lower fat milk like almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk, as it will produce an icy texture rather than a creamy texture.
- Make chocolate banana popsicles by adding 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder and an extra tablespoon of pure maple syrup.
- Feel free to blend all of the ingredients in a high-speed blender or a food processor for easy prep and smooth texture.
How to Make Banana Popsicles:
Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until most of the chunks are out. Add in the coconut milk, pure maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix well to combine.

Pour the banana mixture into your popsicle mold and insert the popsicle sticks. Freeze for 4 hours or overnight, or until the popsicles are frozen solid.

When you’re ready to enjoy the popsicles, thaw them for a few minutes before lifting up on a popsicle stick to release one from the mold.
Store popsicles in the popsicle mold, a freezer bag, or an airtight container for up to 2 months.

And that’s it! This easy banana popsicle recipe is ideal for hot summer days! Made with simple ingredients and little added sugar, they make the perfect healthy popsicles.
