Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs for a quick, easy, and goof-proof method for cooking eggs every time. This post includes instructions on how to make soft boiled eggs (or “jammy eggs) as well as fully-cooked hard boiled eggs in the air fryer.

If I were you, I’d be thinking to myself, “Cooking hard boiled eggs in the air fryer? That’s silly.”
Hear me out.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard friends and family say they always, always mess up hard boiled eggs.
The delicate shell cracks upon adding hitting the bottom of the saucepan upon entering the boiling water, an egg turns into the hulk and breaks through its own shell, one egg gets frisky with another egg, and in all cases: the egg white comes splooging out.
But wait, there’s more.
We forget to time the eggs, undershoot it, and when we eventually peel the eggs, guess what happens? Uncooked egg white splooges out.
If this is you, no shame.
We can cook hard boiled (or soft boiled) eggs in the air fryer with great success every single time. In fact, I’d be so bold as to say this is the easiest way of cooking perfect eggs.
No overthinking it, no cracks, just perfect hard boiled eggs for your every need.
You can make them in bulk ahead of time for weekly meal prep and save them in an airtight container, or you can whip them up whenever the craving strikes.
All you need are large eggs and an air fryer!
Let’s make them!

How to Make Hard Boiled Eggs in the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 250 degrees F for 5 minutes.
Carefully place the raw eggs inside of the air fryer basket (use as few or as many as you would like and your air fryer can hold). Place eggs such that they aren’t touching in a single layer if possible.
For soft boiled eggs, cook for 11 to 13 minutes for a soft egg yolk and for hard boiled eggs, cook for 17 minutes for a completely cooked yolk.
After the cooking process is complete, immediately transfer the cooked eggs to an ice bath and allow them to chill for at least 15 minutes.
At this point, you can peel and enjoy the eggs or transfer them to the refrigerator until you’re ready to use them.
Use hard boiled eggs within 4 days of cooking them.
This easy air fryer recipe is my new favorite method for preparing hard boiled eggs. I hope you love it too, especially if you find the boiling method a challenge.
Tips for Air Fryer Eggs:
Be sure you don’t skip the ice water bath immediately following cooking. This process is what makes the egg shells easier to peel, so for the best results, have a large bowl of ice water ready with plenty of ice cubes before the eggs are finished cooking.
Air frying fresh eggs can result in brown spots on the egg whites of the eggs. This is completely normal and it doesn’t affect the flavor, freshness, or tastiness of the eggs.
Different air fryers may yield different results, so the cooking time may vary slightly between air fryers.
You can experiment with different times to get the perfect done-ness for a soft-boiled egg. In general, 11 to 13 minutes will give you eggs that have perfectly cooked whites and a soft, jammy yolk.

I would much rather use my instant pot, just push the button that says egg. In 5 minutes and I can have up to 18 eggs.

My air fryer doesn’t have a preheat option. To preheat then, do I just run it without the pan in at 250 for 5 minutes?? Thank you so much!

Hi Lora! You're correct! I would just have it run at 270 degrees for 5 minutes to get it nice and warm :) Hope you enjoy!

Hi Rochelle! I put the eggs straight into the air fryer from the refrigerator, so they are cold when they go in :) Hope that helps! xoxox
