Vegan "Cheese" Sauce made with 4 basic whole food ingredients. This easy recipe makes creamy, delicious vegan-friendly sauce that tastes cheesy! | TheRoastedRoot.net #paleo #dairyfree

I did a thing.

I made us dairy-free cheese sauce. What in the world are we going to do with a dairy-free vegan cheese sauce, you ask?

What aren’t we going to do with dairy-free cheese sauce is my response.

My vision for making this recipe was to provide an asset for those times you’re craving macaroni and cheese, but want to keep it reasonably healthful, and/or a delicious sauce for pairing with steamed or roasted vegetables. Ever get a hankering for a broccoli-cheddar situation? This is the sauce to make that happen.

In essence, this sauce is perfect for those who love rich and creamy flavors but follow either a dairy-free, vegan, or paleo diet (or simply those who like to limit their dairy intake and prefer sticking with plant-based whole foods).

Features:

  • Dairy-Free, vegan, paleo, plant-based, whole food
  • Quick, easy, and straight-forward to prepare
  • Small boost of plant-based protein
  • Rich and creamy while being healthful
  • Mouth-wateringly delicious and versatile

This recipe for Low-FODMAP Pesto Sauce is perfect for those who are sensitive to garlic, have IBS, or follow a dairy-free (or vegan) diet. This boldly flavored sauce is great for all your pesto-ing needs!.

Low-FODMAP Pesto Sauce - a garlic-free, dairy-free recipe for pesto sauce that is Low-FODMAP and vegan - perfect for those with food sensitivities

Pesto sauce adds an incredible pop of flavor to everything it touches. I’ve always been a huge fan of pesto, and have made it homemade for over a decade. I recently changed up the way I make pesto because I’m sensitive to garlic, which is a high-FODMAP food that triggers my IBS symptoms.

In addition, while fermented dairy isn’t a huge trigger for me, I do try to avoid dairy when possible. In essence, I go garlic-free and dairy-free when I make pesto, which may sound like an epic snooze fest, but rest assured, I have a formula for low-FODMAP pesto that is easy on my digestive system while still being super flavorful.
