Kombucha Cocktail Recipe - a simple, refreshing cocktail recipe with no added sweetener - refreshing and healthier for summer sipping!

Have you ever made a cocktail using hard kombucha or regular kombucha? Itโ€™s pretty wild!

Because kombucha has a subtle sweet flavor and tang, it makes for the ultimate mixer.

And hard kombucha? Even better! You get the fizz and the added alcohol, making for a refreshing beverage that is low in sugar, big in flavor, and leaves you feeling gravy!

For this particular kombucha cocktail, I use Sierra Nevadaโ€™s Strainge Beast Watermelon, Sea Salt, Lime & Mint Hard Kombucha, tequila, cherry juice, and pineapple juice.

It turns out tasting perfectly sweet, somewhat tropical, nice and fizzy with a delightful fresh crisp essence.

A kombucha sunrise, if you will. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Kombucha Cocktails sweetened with fruit juice and a shot of booze for a delicious adult beverage to sip on all summer long.

In case you havenโ€™t checked out my Kombucha Soda Bread or my Kombucha Pancakes recipe, Iโ€™ll give you the quick rundown on hard kombucha.

Strainge Beast Hard Kombucha is brewed using a standard SCOBY, just like regular kombucha, in addition to hops and fun flavors for a higher alcohol content and plenty of deliciousness. It is naturally gluten-free!

This particular flavor, the Watermelon, Sea Salt, Lime, & Mint is absolutely perfect for summertime! Itโ€™s cool and crisp, has the perfect level of sweetness, and leaves you feeling satisfied.

Plus, one can is only 100 calories and is lower in alcohol, at 4%, making it a bit more health-conscious in the way of alcoholic beverages.

If you do lake days, float on a river, love picnicking or barbecuing, this drink is your JAM!

Letโ€™s discuss the ingredients!

Ingredients for Kombucha Cocktails

Ingredients for Kombucha Cocktail:

Hard Kombucha: As I mentioned previously, I use Strainge Beast. Any of their flavors will be amazing in this cocktail, as each is so unique and delicious; however, I love the cool, refreshing taste of the Watermelon, Sea Salt, Lime & Mint.

Tequila: Used to spike our beverage! Either clear or gold tequila works, so pick your poison…err…favorite ๐Ÿ˜‰

You can go as heavy or as light as youโ€™d like with the tequila, but I find about a shot and a half to be just right for me. Rum or vodka would also be tasty options if you arenโ€™t a fan of tequila.

Cherry Juice & Pineapple Juice: Used to sweeten the cocktail to offset the liquor without adding sweetener, cherry juice and pineapple juice make a beautiful, magenta beverage that will give you the nicest, cleanest buzz. I always use 100% juices with no added sugar, but feel free to pick your favorite brand of juice.

Optional Add Ins: Add fresh lime juice and/or a little pure maple syrup to taste. The lime juice will bring more tang and zestiness, and the pure maple syrup some natural sweetness. I recommend adding 1 tablespoon of either or both to start out and adjust from there.

Additional Flavor Ideas: If you love the concept of kombucha cocktails and want to play with the flavors, try using orange juice, mango juice, and/or cranberry juice. The combination of orange juice and mango juice will give you the ultimate tropical vibe.

How to Make Kombucha Cocktails:

Add ice cubes to a large glass, followed by the tequila.

Pour in the full can of hard kombucha, followed by the cherry juice and pineapple juice. Stir well until the beverage is combined. How to make cocktails with kombucha

Taste the cocktail for flavor and add 1 to 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice and/or pure maple syrup to taste.

Sip and enjoy!

So thatโ€™s it! The way I see it, this drink recipe is fabulous for your upcoming 4th of July gathering, or for enjoying during the toasty summer months. Let me know what flavors you try, and enjoy!
