Letโ€™s discuss the simple ingredients for these easy sweet potato bites.

Ingredients for Hot Honey Sweet Potato Bites:

Sweet Potatoes: The star of the show! We need fresh sweet potatoes or yams for roasting to golden brown perfection.

Avocado Oil: The chopped sweet potatoes are tossed in avocado oil to generate that perfect golden brown crust. The oil makes the potatoes crispy while enabling them to bake evenly.

I donโ€™t recommend using olive oil because we are cooking at a high temperature, and olive oil burns around 350 degrees F.

Sea Salt: Season the potatoes to your personal taste with salt and black pepper.

Unsalted Butter: That luscious, creamy elixir that makes everything taste extra special.

Garlic: Fresh garlic gets finely minced and sauteed with creamy butter to provide a big burst of flavor.

Honey: The reason weโ€™re all here! Honey is heated up with butter and garlic to create a magical hot honey mixture that is drizzled all over the roasted sweet potatoes. This sweet and savory combination is something extra special!

Recipe Customizations:

  • Swap the honey for pure maple syrup.
  • โ€‹Toss 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts, pecans, or pumpkin seeds in with the sweet potato cubes.
  • Add in 1/4 to 1/3 cup of dried cranberries for some sweet tangy flavor and a fun twist.
  • Freshly grated parmesan cheese, goat cheese, or feta cheese is a great addition.
  • If you have fresh herbs like fresh parsley on hand, finely chop them and toss them in just before serving.
  • Keep the flavor profile sweet by omitting the garlic.

Now that weโ€™ve covered the basic ingredients, letโ€™s make it!
