Bacon Wrapped Roasted Pears with Goat Cheese and Honey is an unforgettable unique appetizer for serving guests! This easy pear appetize recipe is a crowd-pleaser!

I have some Questions for you.
- Goat cheese. Have you ever had it roasted in the oven?
- Have you ever wanted to be wrapped in bacon?
- Pears. How do you feel about them?
As we all know, I’m not an huge fan of fall and winter fruit.
As it turns out, stuffing pears with goat cheese, engulfing them in bacon, roasting them in the oven, then razzle dazzling them with honey is a two thousand percent improvement upon the pear.
So if you’re already a pear fan, I can only imagine what these beauties will do for your soul!

As it turns out, scooping out the core of pears, stuffing them with goat cheese, wrapping them with bacon and roasting them in the oven is a recipe for a miracle.
Every bite it a melt-in-your mouth experience. If you’re looking for a fun and unique appetizer recipe, this may just be a great fit!
For those times you are entertaining guests, partaking in a holiday gathering, or are just looking for something new to bedazzle your life, these goat cheese stuffed pears are for you!
Let’s chat about the basic ingredients for this pear and goat cheese appetizer.
Ingredients For Goat Cheese Stuffed Pears:
Fresh Pears: Use any kind of pears, including bosc pears, Asian pears, bartlett pears, or red d’angou pears. For this easy recipe, I used bosc pears.
Goat Cheese: Pick your favorite kind of soft goat cheese (or goat chevre). I typically use regular goat cheese without any additional ingredients infused. Occasionally I use lavender infused goat cheese (by the brand Purple Haze).
Bacon: Go with thick cut bacon for the best results! I like using uncured bacon with no added sugar. You’re the captain of your ship, so pick a bacon you love!
Honey: A drizzle of honey brings pear appetizers together in an indescribable way! Be sure to use it!
Fresh Herbs: I like adding a little fresh rosemary, but fresh thyme, fresh parsley, and fresh sage are great options too. You can also keep it simple and mix Italian seasoning into the goat cheese.

Now that we’re familiar with the basic ingredients, let’s make some pear appetizers!
How to Make Goat Cheese Stuffed Pears:
- Line a baking sheet with foil. No need to preheat the oven!
- Halve the pears and core them (remove the seeds and tough stem).
- Stuff each pear half with 1 tablespoon (or desired amount) of goat cheese. Note: if you’d like, you can mix some fresh herbs or dried herbs into the goat cheese for some extra flavor.
- Wrap each pear half with 1 slice bacon, and place on the foil-lined baking sheet.
- Place baking sheet in cold oven; bake at 375 degrees F for 40 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Turn broiler to high. Broil for 1 minute.
- Sprinkle a little sea salt over the roasted pear halves. Drizzle with honey and serve with a sprinkle of fresh rosemary.

So what you’ve got to do with these is make them as an appetizer for any occasion. Particularly for your Thanksgiving table next week!
They take about seven seconds to assemble and they can just hang out in your oven for 40 minutes, since it’s already going to be preheated and everything.
Spoiler alert: they perfume your home with bacon scent.

I have been making these since I tried them at a party years ago. They are my favorite fall breakfast treat. I personally prefer low sodium tin bacon and I use the whole strip. I find they come out crispy. If my pears are hard I microwave them a bit. Otherwise they may not cook through. I literally have used all kinds of pears and many flavors of goat cheese. I love them all. You simply cannot go wrong. Sprinkles of thyme and brown sugar are my favorite toppings.
This is such helpful feedback, Amanda! I haven’t tested the recipe with all types of pears, nor have I switched up the bacon selection – this is super useful to others who are looking to make the recipe and for me on my next go with them 🙂 Happy cooking and baking!
You are welcome. I came back to your recipe to check the cooking temp. today. My yummy breakfast is in the oven. My taste buds are jumping. I hope you try these over and over. There are so many possibilities.😁😍
Love that!! Happy New Year!
These are amazing and I keep coming back to them again and again. Such a delicious and unique flavor!
When I’m not making them to serve as more of a showpiece, I’ve taken to making a quick and easy version, which works well as a lunch treat: lining a pan with foil and then cutting the pears into bite-sized pieces and scattering little dollops of the goat cheese over it before topping with bacon pieces (I use the Costco kind that are just real bacon, not imitation). Cooking it that way makes it easier to eat, gives an even distribution of ingredients, and means it can be fully cooked in about 10 minutes instead of 40. Not quite as fancy, but a nice way to make a treat for myself!
All of that sounds marvelous! Thank you so much for sharing and for swinging back around to provide your feedback – this is super helpful to others who want to try the recipe! xo
I take the time to search reviews of recipes, which means a reader has tested this and is now giving their opinion for others to decide if they will take the time to make it.
I love that you have faithful fans but wish people who have actually made the recipe would leave a review- otherwise it’s not really a review is it?
Having said that I am making this tonight and will leave an honest actual review for your readers. 😊
I’m going to make these tonight for an appetizer potluck. I’m supposed to pear it (see what I did there?) with a beverage. So tired of white wine. Got any suggestions for a cocktail to go with?
Ah jeez, I’m late in responding to this, but dang, I bet a pear cocktail would have been amazing!! Or like an apple cider dark and stormy type of situation? Also, perhaps my lemon thyme bourbon cocktails: https://www.theroastedroot.net/lemon-thyme-bourbon-cocktails-naturally-sweetened/ Hope you enjoyed the pears!
