You’re looking at my latest dessert obsession! I’m a big yogurt girl, so experimenting with these frozen yogurt bites has been pure bliss for me.
Because I’m a daily yogurt eater, I’m always looking for fun ways of enjoying it. Turns out that mixing it with ripe banana and peanut butter and giving it a chocolate magic shell coating is the ultimate summer dessert or delicious snack!
I love that these can be made very small, like little bon bons, or large to satisfy a bigger sweet tooth.

Ingredient Notes:
Vanilla Greek Yogurt: The base of the frozen yogurt bites, Greek vanilla yogurt is thick, creamy, packed with protein, and is just the right level of sweetness.
Ripe Banana: Bringer of sweetness and banana flavor, a large ripe banana is key here! Be sure the banana has plenty of brown spots, signaling that it will be nice and sweet.
Creamy Peanut Butter: A little peanut butter goes a long way in gracing the treats with its flavor. Nevertheless, you can always add more peanut butter if you want it to be the dominant flavor.
Chocolate Chips: Used for the chocolate coating, semisweet chocolate chips create the most delicious chocolate shell.
Coconut Oil: Helps the chocolate melt evenly into a lovely creamy consistency.
Recipe Adaptations:
- Swap out the vanilla yogurt for a different flavor. When using plain Greek yogurt, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey or pure maple syrup to sweeten the mixture.
- Skip the peanut butter altogether if you aren’t into it. You can also use almond butter or cashew butter if you’d like.
- Omit the banana and use ½ cup of additional yogurt, another tablespoon of peanut butter, and a drizzle of honey.
- Make a white chocolate shell using white chocolate chips, a butterscotch shell using butterscotch chips, or a peanut butter shell using peanut butter chips.
- Add other kinds of fresh fruit, like fresh blueberries, chopped strawberries, raspberries, etc.
- Optional toppings: crushed peanuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts, or shredded coconut.
How to Make Frozen Yogurt Bites:
Prepare the Yogurt Filling:
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
Mash the ripe banana in a large bowl until it is relatively creamy. Add in the yogurt and peanut butter and stir well until everything is well combined.

Use a small cookie scoop or an ice cream scoop (depending on your desired size) to scoop mounds of the yogurt mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.

Note: if you don’t have a scooper, you can use a piping bag to make any size treats you’d like.
Freeze for 1 hour, or until the mounds of yogurt are set up.

Make the Chocolate Coating:
Transfer the chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 20-second intervals, stirring well in between each interval, until the chocolate has completely melted, about 60 seconds total.

Allow the chocolate mixture to cool for a minute or two.
Dip the mounds of frozen yogurt into the melted chocolate mixture, creating a uniform coating on the outside.
Place the chocolate covered treats back onto the same lined baking sheet and freeze again for 30-60 minutes, or until the chocolate coating has set up.

Once the yogurt bites are completely frozen, they are ready to enjoy!
Storage Instructions:
Freeze yogurt bites in an airtight container such as a large freezer bag or a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. When you’re ready to enjoy one, allow it to thaw at room temperature for a few minutes before biting in.
