Garlic Butter Cream Sauce

This easy steak sauce recipe requires hardly any time to prepare, is easy to customize, and results in an amazing steak house style sauce. Perfect for steak or fish!

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 large cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour or gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp sea salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Transfer the butter to a medium-sized skillet and heat over medium heat. Allow the butter to melt, then add the fresh minced garlic. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until the garlic is very fragrant and has softened, about 5 minutes. Be sure to keep the temperature under control so that the butter and the garlic remain light in color and don’t turn brown.
  • Sprinkle in the flour and stir well until the flour is completely dissolved. Cook for another 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and increase the heat to bring the sauce to a gentle bubble. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the sauce begins to pull away from the skillet, about 3 minutes total. Immediately remove the sauce from the heat and season to your personal taste with salt and pepper. Pour the sauce into a jar or a small gravy boat for serving.
  • Serve sauce immediately with steak or your main dish of choice. If need be, you can reheat the sauce and stir well.
