Chop the barky ends off of the asparagus. Transfer to a plate and drizzle with avocado oil (or olive oil), garlic powder, and sea salt.

Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. Transfer the asparagus to the basket of the air fryer and arrange in a single layer.

Air fry for 6 - 10 minutes (depending on the thickness of the asparagus).

Grate fresh lemon zest over the cooked asparagus and sprinkle with red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese (if desired).
