Ingredients

Apple Filling:

Cobbler Topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Peel and chop the apple into small pieces. Transfer the chopped apple to a measuring cup along with the rest of the ingredients for the apple filling (pure maple syrup, avocado oil, flour, ground cinnamon, and a little sea salt). Mix everything together until the apple pieces are well coated.
  • In a separate measuring cup, mix together the ingredients for the cobbler topping (flour, avocado oil, pure maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and sea salt) until well combined.
  • Transfer the apple filling mixture to an oven-safe ramekin, followed by the cobbler topping. Cover the ramekin with aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  • Bake on the center rack of the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes (30 minutes for al dente apples, 40 minutes for softer apples) until the apples are soft and golden brown. Remove the cinnamon apple cobbler from the oven and allow it to sit for 10 minutes, still covered in foil, to cool.
  • Serve, and enjoy! Remember that the ramekin is still very hot, so be careful when handling it. I love this easy apple crumble with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of fresh whipped cream for a creamy element.

Notes

*Use your favorite apple for baking. I use a gala apple, because it turns out nice and sweet and results in the perfect texture. Granny Smith apples, pink lady apples, honey crisp apples and Jonagold apples are all great options.
