Halloween Sangria Recipe

Use the cheat code above to get the color you're looking for! Below is a general formula for either black sangria or blood red sangria. The trick is in the choice of wine. Pick a red wine and you'll end up with a dark (black) sangria. Choose a white wine, and you'll end up with a bright red sangria. Bottoms up!

Ingredients

  • 1 (750-ml) bottle wine *
  • 1/2 to 1 cup pomegranate cherry, grape, or blueberry juice
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1 to 2 ounces flavored liqueur such as Cointreau optional
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup to taste
  • 4 cups fresh fruit **

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a large pitcher and stir well.
  • Allow sangria to sit at least 2 hours (overnight is best) before serving over ice. Be sure to add some of the alcohol-soaked fruit to each glass.

Notes

* For black sangria, use red wine such as cabernet sauvignon or Malbec. For Red sangria, use white wine such as sauvignon blanc, or Rose.
** Such as apples, blood oranges, plums, cherries, etc.
