Combine the ingredients for the shortbread crust and topping in a mixing bowl and mix well. Measure out 1/2 cup of the mixture and set it aside to use as the topping.

Transfer the rest of the crust mixture to a parchment lined 8-inch baking pan and press it into an even layer. Poke several holes into the crust with a fork.

Heat the ingredients for the blackberry filling in a saucepan over medium-high heat until thick.

Spread the blackberry filling over the pre-baked crust.
